Civic wants environmental talk on Station Rd. rezoning
Yournabe.com, Friday, May 21, 2010
Steve wishes to bring together members of all parties, in order to to establish a dialogue regarding an environmental study analyzing the controversial Auburndale manufacturing district. Steve aims to bring together both community and business leaders.
"I have been working with both sides, trying to work as a go-between to bring both of them to the table to negotiate a fair agreement where Star Nissan can continue to run its business and pay taxes and the people of Station Road can enjoy the quiet of a residential neighborhood," Behar said.
While Rhea O'Gorman, the civic's president, said "They haven't reached out as far as I know to Steve [Behar]," the article notes that "Behar said he has not given up on a meeting between the two groups."
Steve concludes that "Station Road has been more than willing to go to negotiation with Star Nissan and right now the ball is really in Star Nissan's court."

Behar Pushes Albany Reform
Bayside Times, Thursday, July 8, 2010
Steve says he will push for significant campaign finance reform, ethics reform and nonpartisan redistricting as part of his plans to reform Albany's dysfunctional state Legislature.
"There's nobody that speaks for the average person in the street," he says.
"The leadership is a failure. The lobbyists and special interests have bought the Legislature."
Steve affirms that now is the time for action. "Albany is ripe for change", Steve said. "I believe when people see an elected official who demands change, they'll get behind that person."
Steve promises that fixing our overcrowded district schools to perform better and ensuring that services for senior citizens do not get cut will also be high priorities.------
Four Dems vie for Carroza seat
The Queens Courier, Wednesday, July 28, 2010
Steve believes he "should be the frontrunner for his community because of his name recognition and longtime community involvement."
Steve also worries about the dangers to our community posed by his opponent, asserting that "Ed Braunstein's candidacy represents everything that is wrong with our state government in Albany," continuing that his election "represents a takeover of our district by failed leadership and a takeover of our district by the lobbyists and special interests."

Candidate's incendiary flyer draws ire of both parties
Daily News, Tuesday, August 24th 2010, 9:40 AM
Steve decries an opponent's attempts to frame himself as a "reformer" who is not tied to special interests and lobbyists.
Steve affirms that "All the candidates are running on our records," but that it is "indefensible" for his opponent, Ed Braunstein, "to call himself a reformer" -- also noting that Braunstein's uncle is high-caliber lobbyist Brian Meara.
